 John Richey

Hailing from the state of Wisconsin, Master fiddler John Richey brings his fine bow and passion for presenting a tune from the soul with excellence to Boyne Country. John originally co-hosted the Boyne Celtic Session that he and Gaeyle Gerrie began in January 2009 but due to an ever growing booking of events has asked Gaeyle to handle the session.

John first rosin'd his bow in the Irish pub scene in Milwaukee.  In his travels far and wide across America he has played with a long list of fine musicians.  His passion and agressive joyous approach to playing brings to life the ancient tunes and gives an electric sparkle to the newer ones. In addition to Synergy, John plays with the Robert Emmet society Hoolie Band, the T-Trio, the Blissfest band and Shepherd's Folly.

John's background is diverse and includes playing with the Walloon's, the Great Lakes Orchestra, the Charlevoix Boys, Frogwater, North Country String Band, Free Whiskey, The Long-goodies, North Coast, the Tio Trio and the Peace Meal String Band.  Additionally, he has a number of recordings to his credit with several groups where he is featured as a singer in addition to his fine work on the violin.

His heart stirring vocals and abilities to make the fiddle, guitar, and mandolin sing brings a rich and moving musical voice to the music of Synergy.

When it comes to his fiddle playing, John is uncomparable.

John's talent with celtic, cajun and traditional tunes adds the dimension of Old Time music soul to "Synergy Song".
